Partnering strongly with engineers and architects, Decks by Decamp installed custom cedar glue laminate beams to accommodate for the large spans between columns. Custom truss’ were flow in by crane and terracotta tiles installed to match the existing roof.
The second floor was then completely waterproofed using the Trex Rain Escapes deck drainage system. This network of hidden gutters and troughs will provide a moisture free patio area below, perfect for adding light fixtures, ceiling fans, entertainment systems, and more.
Once the waterproofing was done, the second story received Trex’s Transcend Tropical deck boards. Because this line is in Trex’s premium product family, this homeowner will appreciate Trex’s 25 year stain and fade warranty in addition to DBD‘s 5 year workmanship warranty.
Shortly after, new electrical outlets, switches, lights, and ceiling fans were added. Brushed aluminum soffit was hung in the ceilings and stucco continued into select areas to round edges and soften the overall look of the home.
After a fresh coat of paint, a Trex Transcend railing system was installed. This customer chose to cap the railing with a (flat) cocktail rail top; perfect for potted plants or cold drinks on a summer day.
As the final days onsite approached, our lucky homeowners were very excited to begin enjoying their new outdoor living space. We will say the excitement was shared as an extremely hot and sunny patio was turned in a cool and inviting oasis, night day and night, rain or shine.
